Snakes of Tarrant County
Every Memorial Day weekend, the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge and Dallas-Fort Worth Herpetological Society hosts "Snakes of Tarrant County." This event draws in many people from all over the area to see the many snakes that can be found in and around Tarrant County. The group allows you an up close look at snakes that you would need to keep a distance from in the wild.
The DFW Herp Society is very knowledgeable when it comes to snakes in our area. They can answer your questions about snakes and dispel some myths about snakes. Come prepared with your questions and curiosity.
The DFW Herp Society works with other herps (reptiles and amphibians) other than snakes. Along with the snakes, the group will bring some of these herps with them.
"Snakes of Tarrant County" is a free event with paid admission. The event will be held at the Hardwicke Interpretive Center and the schedule is as followed:
Saturday, May 26 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Sunday, May 27 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Monday, May 28 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Please visit the DFW Herp Society's website at dfwherp.org to learn more about them.
